Erie Community Foundation and ECGRA - Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority provides grant for Dementia Training "Train the Trainer" program at HVA

HVA Senior Living Alliance thanks the Erie Community Foundation and ECGRA – Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority for the grant that co-sponsored the training. 

HVA was able to offer the program to ten (10) participants.  This program is designed to be a train-the trainer program, meaning everyone who completes the three-day course will be certified as a Dementia Trainer.  Upon completion they will be able to then teach their staff current nurses, nurse aides, and family members etc.

Cara Gallagher Special Projections Manger (HVA) obtained the grant for training.  Attending the training are:  Emily Hill, BSN, RN (Springhill), Karen Triana, Certified Nursing Assistant (Brevillier), Gina Cooper, LPN (St. Pauls), Julie Leonard (Brevillier Village), Emma Trump, RN (Springhill), Melanie Keth, LPN (WRC Senior Services), Kathrine Gustafson, MSN, RN (St. Mary’s East),  Shana DeBoe, BSN, RN (St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge), Jamie Lee, RN (Sarah Reed Senior Living), and Barbara Elliott, BSN, RN (St. Mary’s East).  Leading the three-day training pictured center is Chris Ebell, OTR/L DCCT, Lead Trainer/Global Professional Instructor, Dementia Care Specialists, Crisis Prevention Institute.
